My Story
A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL HERE TO GUIDE YOU
Imagine waking up every morning feeling like you can take on the world. How great does that feel? In 2016, I decided to go back to college (for the 6th time) and find the best way to help others rediscover and ignite their spark. I worked in the field of substance addiction and recovery for several years prior, beginning my journey as a NC Certified Peer Support Specialist. I have the lived experience that helps me relate to what many of you have or are currently going through. I graduated with a Masters in Social Work in 2020, the year when life as we knew it would change. In 2022, I opened the doors to my practice to clients in the Asheville area of North Carolina— offering them a wide range of counseling and psychological services to guide them through life’s challenges and most trying times.
Life can get difficult, and sometimes a little help from a professional Therapist can make things better. I care about your well-being and provide you all the tools you need in order to seize the day and learn how to tackle even the most traumatic circumstances.
My Professional Background
WHAT MAKES ME STAND OUT
NOVEMBER 2011-DECEMBER 2016
Peer Support Specialist and Case Manager at Homeward Bound of WNC
I worked with the unhoused people of our community, helping them navigate available resources to find permanent housing and recovery services. I also shared my own journey in homelessness to support those who struggled with safety, security, and trust.
JANUARY 2017-JANUARY 2019
Case Manager for Supportive Housing at RHA Behavioral Health
I supported individuals with transitioning from group home living to independent living, navigating resources, primary and mental healthcare, and activities of daily living.
JANUARY 2019-MAY 2019
AUGUST 2019-MAY 2020
Undergraduate and Graduate Intern, and Primary Therapist at Asheville Recovery Center
I was an undergraduate intern at a premier recovery center in Asheville, NC and loved it so much that I returned for my graduate internship. Once I graduated, I became employed as a Primary Therapist, serving adults diagnosed with substance use disorders, and other mental health diagnoses.
MAY 2020-OCTOBER 2022
Intake Clinician and Program Director for the CASP program at October Road Inc.
I began work as an Intake Clinician for a men's residential program in Asheville, NC, screening and assessing uninsured men in need of recovery support in an inpatient program. I then became the Program Director which allowed me the experience of managing others in a professional environment. I encouraged the men through different treatment modalities to support them in finding ways to move through the pain and find a new way to live.
